Friday Night Confessions

I have been thinking of a bunch of different confessions that I can put up here this week..so let's see what we've come up with, shall we?
  • I hate spiders. Even the thought of one nearby scares the snot out of me.
  • I swear. A lot. Not many people hear me, because most of it is said under my breath, but it's a habit Sam is trying to get me to break.
  • Along with that one, I have road rage somewhat. I apologize to anyone out there that I have called an idiot. I can't help it. I am usually nice...just not as nice in a car.
  • I haven't shaved my legs in about a week. And I can not stand it.
  • I have a secret crush on Johnny Depp, especially as a Pirate.
  • I talk to myself. (yeah..not going to explain that one)
  • I am obsessed with photography. Taking pictures, and editing them. I LOVE it, and could do it all day.
  • I don't like changing poopy diapers. I know, I know. I waited 6.5 years to be able to do that, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
  • I want to be doing this right now...

Enjoy!

11 months old

This is a short post telling about Bubba and how he turned 11 months old yesterday! I CAN NOT BELIEVE IT! 1 more month and he turns 1 year old! I look at him, and he is still my baby, but I can't help but see my little baby growing into a little boy. It makes me happy and breaks my heart all at the same time. Here is what he enjoys..
  • He loves to walk. He walks all over the place. He doesn't crawl as much anymore. He can stand up in the middle of a room without holding on to anything and just take off walking.
  • He can crawl DOWN stairs now as well. So he is better at working those.
  • He loves mom and dad. He is definately a momma's boy. Whenever I leave the room, even if it is just to the bathroom, he cries for me and tries to follow me. When he is hurt, he will come to me, and when he is happy he will come to me.
  • He loves food! He is starting to get more picky with what he eats, but he LOVES mac n cheese. He also enjoys eggs, cheese, lasagna, toast, yogurt, and anything anyone else is eating. He is seriously a moocher. Whatever you are eating, he wants to try it.
  • He sleeps all night. Although usually doesn't go to sleep until midnight or later, but then he sleeps in until 11 or 12. I'm trying to decide which I would like more...
  • He had his first haircut, and loves letting me do his hair.
  • He LOVES pillows and blankets. Seriously, he will grab them off of the couch and just bury himself into them. It is SO cute! He also loves stuffed animals. He cuddles them and can't go to sleep without one.
  • His favorite movie is Madagascar. If you say Zebra, he will look at the TV and point.
  • He loves to tickle. And he will say "tickle tickle tickle" as he tries to tickle you.
  • He also knows what his bottle is and tries to say it.
  • He still loves baths.
  • He still has the ability to make me fall in love every time I look at him. :-)

That is Bubba at 11 months. There are probably more things. I know I need to get video of him walking on here, and also video of him tickling on here. Those are the next things on my list of getting of him. Hopefully I can this week. Now to find that video camera.... And of course a picture. Me and my baby. He has NO expression as we slide down the slide....

Bubba

Curtis and I went out today and did a little photo shoot of Bubba since it was fairly warm, and since we cut his hair, and we got him a cute outfit. All of these things BEGGED for a photo shoot. Haha. So here are my favorites. There are a lot, I tried to narrow them down...but I couldn't. So I asked my siblings for help narrowing them down...they couldn't. Lot of help they are. So you get all of them here. Enjoy!

Har Har Har...I'm SOOO funny!

"What's up?"

This one is showing him walking. He was so excited to see me sitting there that he started walking faster to get to me!
So fast in fact that he fell. He wasn't hurt when he fell, but he whined a little bit (proably because he was sick of it at this point) and just laid there with his head down (which he does whenever he is sad, hurt, upset, etc...) It was SO sad, but I couldn't resist taking the picture.
Awww...I just love him SO much! Now, which one should I blow up and hang on my wall? Any choices? Let me know which ones you think I should! Enjoy!

Light of my life...

I wanted to take a minute and say how much I LOVE being a mother. There are a lot of things going on in the world that just make me want to scream. But I look at my little guy, and my heart feels at peace. He is so sweet and innocent, and I can't believe that he is mine. I was reading a blog (click here) posted by my friend Michelle about a little girl who was diagnosed with cancer, and within 3 weeks of finding out, she passed away. She was Bubba's age. It made my heart break for them to have to go through that. And it made me hold my little one a little longer. Made me kiss him a few extra times (just a few ;-)), and just made me SO grateful that I have him in my life. I can't imagine my life without him, and it is sad that it takes reading something like that to really appreciate what I have in my life. I have 2 loves of my life, Sam and Bubba, and I would be no where without them! I mean, look at this face. How could you NOT love it!

These were taken the other day by my brother Curtis. He is an aspiring photographer as well and these ones just melted my heart.
Anyway, hold your loved ones a little longer, make sure that you tell them that you love them, and give them extra kisses. Because they deserve it. I love this little guy with ALL of my heart and I would do anything in the world for him. And I count my blessings, and thank the Lord every day that I have the chance to love him.

Friday Night Confessions

Thanks to my dear friend Carolyn I am going to try to do confessions. I think it might be fun, and it will start out simple at first, and then we might get into something. Muhahaha. Carolyn, I know I said I was going to do Thursday night confessions, and I might change it to that next week, but for now...they are Friday night confessions. Because I am too impatient to wait until next Thursday to start, and it's my blog so I can do what I want.
  • I love photography (this isn't really a confession...everyone knows it..)
  • I can't burp. I have tried and tried to learn how. I have had many teachers on this subject, but I just can't do it.
  • I hate being cold.
  • I hate semi-trucks. Whenever Sam is driving and we drive past one, I hold my breath and close my eyes. It's THAT bad. When I am driving, I will wait until all other cars have passed me (if it is 2 lanes) and then I will only pass on a straight stretch of road. If there are more than 2 lanes, I will get into the farthest one away from the semi and pass. I have been known to hyperventilate while passing semi-trucks. NOT a pretty sight...
  • I am scared of the dark.

Ok, I think I am going to end with those ones. I think 5 is a good number. I will try to keep this up every week, and I will think of things that I can confess. Haha. Wish me luck.

For You Mom...

Haircut

Now that Bubba is almost 11 months old, we have noticed that his hair has grown quite a bit. He never did get a lot of baldness like some babies do, but it is SO light and fine that we still didn't think that we would have to do this soon. But alas, I digress, we needed to. His hair was starting to be ALL OVER THE PLACE. It would stick straight up, the back would curl. And it just always looked undone. And as you will see from one of the pictures, his mohawk didn't really cut it. So here are some pictures documenting the main event. I was sad to see his cute hair go..but we saved it, so I should be ok. And it's just hair right? It will grow back (just keep telling yourself this Tara), and it will still be cute... *sob* Ok. On to the pictures.
Here is a picture to show you how it stood up some.

And here is his mohawk. It was really quite funny. The front was the right length, but the back went up SO high! It always curled over, and it just looked funny.

Here is Curtis demonstrating how long it is getting. (See the slight curl in it? SOOO cute!)
Here come the clippers. (He didn't know what was coming) We had Sam cut it, since he has cut hair before and we didn't want to pay 9 bucks to have it done.
First cut!
He's starting to wonder what the crap is buzzing around his head.
"Mom, PLEASE don't cut my hair!" (I know baby, I didn't want to! But that big guy doing it said it HAD to be done! Please don't hate me!)
Starting to be ok with it....we think.
This picture pretty much sums it up. He didn't like it buzzing around his head. He kept trying to push it away, and he kept trying to get away. He is NOT happy in this picture. Can you feel the burn of the lasers coming out of his eyes?
ALL DONE!!! Yay! Look at how cute! And I know you can't tell much of a difference. We didn't cut it SHORT. We just made it even everywhere.
And here he is in the bath afterwards. Now I will try to do his hair tomorrow and see how it turns out. Haha.
Cutting his hair was harder on me than I thought. I guess I was still holding on to the babiness of him, and by cutting his hair I felt like I was letting my little baby grow up unto a little boy. It was sad for me, and yes...a tear was shed...but he is still cute. And I wouldn't trade any of this for the world! And I can't wait for what we have ahead of us!

HaPpY VaLeNtInE's DaY

Yes, I know this is late and the day is practically over. But I wanted to wish you all out there in Blogland Happy Valentine's Day, Or Single Awareness Day, or whatever you want to call it! I was a widow today as my Hubby was down south working for the weekend. I was kind of sad about it. This is the first Valentine's Day that I have been away from Sam in 7 years. But I was lucky and got to spend it with bubba, my mom, dad, and siblings. I am SO thankful for them and for what they do for me. Even though I probably annoy the crap out of them sometimes!

Anyway, I will end with a couple of pictures. I will try to do a more thorough update shortly.

"mom, can you PLEASE put the camera away and get me out of this thing?!"

"mom, I'm warning you! These teeth aren't just for show!!"

"What?! These remotes do the SAME thing?!"

Enjoy!

Spring?

The other day we had a "hint" of spring. It was SOOOO nice! The weather was about 60+ degrees, and we got to go outside and just sit on the grass and play. Bubba wasn't sure what to do with himself! He pretty much had free reign over the front yard. He would wander from the fence where Sheba (my parent's dog) was, and over to the planter boxes to play in the dirt. So he got his first taste of dirt, because I couldn't get to him in time to stop him. Silly boy. I took some pictures of him outside, since he is old enough to finally enjoy it! I played around with them, and I love them! So here a few pictures from that...

We also tried feeding Bubba peaches. Like the diced peaches that you can get from the store. He sucked those things down SO fast! But in the process, he got them ALL over himself. So here is a picture of him eating those. He also doesn't want to be in the seat anymore, hence the sad face and the reach.

Also, last week my mom, sisters Tanielle, and Tab took Bubba and DK and headed down to Provo to the University Mall to do some shopping. They had a play area there called a Tree House, it has some dinosaur bones and everything there for kids to play on. My mom took some pictures of them playing. Bubba LOVED it! They have this big earth ball that rotates in water, and he was fascinated with it. It also made a sucking noise that scared him to death! Here are some of those pictures.
So there is a little of our week. Hope you enjoy! Let me know what you think!

LONG Overdue

This post is LONG overdue, as you can tell by the title. Last December, my good friend Michelle came to town. I hunted her down and got together with her. I felt bad because we didn't get a TON of time together, but I was very thankful for the time that we DID have! Her little one was 5 months old for these pictures. And him and Bubba look SO close in size that it is funny! Bubba is 9 months for these pictures. But here they are!

Here is GORGEOUS Michelle holding Bubba.
Here is her little one, looking at his mommy

Michelle and her little. SOOOOO cute! I have another one of him smiling..I will have to see if I can find it...
Here is the one of him smiling! It is kind of dark though..but enjoy!

Here they are lying next to each other. Look at how close they are! So funny...

And here are the 4 of us. This picture was so funny, we sat down to take the pictures, and Nathan reached over and grabbed Bubba's hand. Funny thing, is Bubba HATES having his hands held! But he sat there and let Nathan hold it! It was SOOO cute!

Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think!
