YeeHaw!!

So, after our vehicle breaking down so many times, we decided tot take the plunge and get a car. We have never before bought a car, so this was a new experience! After a few days of researching all the different cars out there, we decided on a Toyota Corolla. The gas milage is awesome on it as were the safety ratings! Not to mention that it is the make that doesn't show up in shops as much! It was a lot of fun to go shopping for one. And suprisingly enough, Sam made all the decisions on getting it! I was very surprised since he is the one who has held back on getting a car for so long!
And here is one of the outside of our apartment just for Michelle! We are apartment C. I would post pictures of the inside, but isn't the cleanest right now! The bottom window is to our front room (Obviously) and the top window is to the nursery. Yay!
Anyway, Now we have a reliable car to drive around that won't break down on us! And it is so fun to drive! I keep trying to think of excuses to go out and drive it around. :-) And those who know me should be surprised! Because normally, I don't like to drive!

Shower Numero Uno!

So my WONDERFUL sister-in-law. (Who is more like a best friend then a sister-in-law) and Sam's aunt threw us a baby shower for the Winsor side of the family. It was AWESOME! It was like a family reunion! It was a lot of fun, and we had a blast! We got some good essentials that we needed.

(this is what happens when you are being beaten with a baloon!!)

Oh, and for those that don't know (I think I have told just about everyone at this point...but I have missed some), we are adopting a little boy. He should be here within the next month, and we are beyond excited for it!

When it Rains it Pours...

Haha, so people told me that I never update my blog. Which is true. I don't very much. So how do you like this! 3 new posts in ONE day! Muahahahaha.

So, as some of you may know, our car was broken down last week. Something was wrong with the fuel pump. We took it into a shop, where they changed their price and wanted to charge us over $200 more than what they had origionally told us! And this was after we had agreed to let them do it! It was broken for like a week and a half, and it was a PAIN IN THE BUTT. We finally got it fixed (thanks to friends who let us use their driveway!!) and we were SO excited to finally have our car back! Yay!

Well today, it started smoking, and now it is spraying anti-freeze all over the engine, and we CAN'T FIND WHERE IT IS COMING FROM! So now we can't drive it AGAIN, because we don't know what will happen with it! ARGH! So now we have to figure out what is wrong with it, and then try to fix it. We just finished putting a couple hundred dollars into fixing it, now what?

I am ready to throw rocks at my car, and beat it with a wet spaghetti noodle! (Although, that might not get us anywhere....) So anyway, that along with the issues I am having with my work have made it so I think I want to start the weekend now. Bleh. Let's hope this week ends on a good note!

Another Tag....

Thanks Michelle~

ReLaTiOnShIp TaG:

What is his name? Samuel, AKA Sam. I also call him bubba.
How long have you been married? Over 5 1/2 years now (July 2002)
How long did you date? Before we were married, about 10 months.
How old is he? 31 but he doesn't look it!
Who eats more? He does. Although I can sometimes surprise him with how much I eat...
Who said "I love you" first? We both agree that I said it first. ;-) But we said it the same night.
Who is taller? Depends on the shoes I wear. He is taller naturally, but I can sure beat him with a pair of heels!
Who sings better? He does. He grew up singing, and stuff. I still have some issues. But I can kick his butt in the clarinet!
Who is smarter? Depends on the subject.
Whose temper is worse? I would have to say mine is. But then, I never yell at computer games ;-)
Who does the laundry? Both of us. Depends on who is home at the time we really need laundry done.
Who does the dishes? Both of us. Again, it depends on who decides to actually do them, and who is available at the time they need to be done! Although, Sam does them more ofte!
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do usually. But like Michelle, it depends on what side is closest to the door. I won't sleep near the door.
Who pays the bills? I do. Sam will remind me of them once and a while, but I take care of them.
Who mows the lawn? No lawn, so we don't have to worry. But if we had a lawn..Sam would. :-)
Who cooks dinner? Sam mostly. I will cook the fancy dinners. But Sam is good at throwing things together. (Yes I know..I'm spoiled.)
Who drives when you are together? Sam definately. I hate driving. Especially long distances.
Who is more stubborn? both of us. We have our certain opinions and we don't like to budge.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I am, it is like pulling teeth for him to.
Whose parents do you see the most? Sam's parents. Probably because they only live 10 minutes away.
Who proposed? Sam
Who has more friends? I do I do! Sam is always giving me a hard time because I want to spend time with friends. Hehe...
Who has more siblings? We are tied.
Who wears the pants in the family? I like to believe that I do. But we work together on most everything, so both of us.

And now I tag MELANIE, and GINNY! Hahahahaha. Take that!

Lunar Eclipse

So, we were told all day that we would not be able to see the Lunar Eclipse. This made me extremely sad! I LOVE most things that have to do with outer space. When I was with a space program at my elementary school, and we spent one night with a bunch of telescopes looking at starts and planets. So I was very bummed to not see it.

Well....I went to my window just to make sure that I couldn't see it. AND THERE IT WAS!! I RAN upstairs so that I could "get closer" to it and have it completely dark to see it. I was SO excited and it looked SO cool! The whole moon was brown/red, and just a sliver on the right side was lit up. You could also see Saturn just below it. DANG I wish I had a telescope! That would have been AWESOME to see up close!

Well, I tried to take pictures of it, but it was dark enough that my camera wouldn't focus on it through the window. And there was no way I was going to go out in below zero weather to try and take a picture in the dark!

Anyway, I wanted to share with you my excitement in being able to see the full lunar eclipse tonight! Something I won't see again for 2 years. ;-)

Done!

Well, we have finished our adoption parent workshop! We just finished the last class of a 6 week course. And I can not tell you how fast the last 6 weeks have gone! "I cannn not beeeleeaave it!". The class was VERY informative, and worthwhile to attend! I am very glad that we have the resources that we have!

Tonight we had a panal of adoptive parents come and talk to us about different situations that they went through. It really helped to see what kinds of things that we will be going through. A couple of them had their kids there with them and they were SO cute! It made us so excited to adopt! We will finally be getting our family!

We will miss the class, as it gave us something to look forward to every week! But it is nice to have another thing checked off of our lists.

So the only thing that they are waiting for is our Background checks. Which we know that they will come out fine, as we had them done a year and a half ago, and last time I checked, neither of us have gotten into trouble, so once that is in, we should have our final approval letter. Which will be very exciting to get! Yay!!

Anyway, that is all really. We have made another step, and we are excited for what everything holds for us!

Bullseye

As I was looking through different things on my computer, I came across this. I remember the first time I read it. I bawled. I saved it away to my hard drive, and didn't think much of it. Until now. I read it again, and I bawled (surprised? I think not...). And it really hit me. I find this true, and I thought I would share it with all of you. I really love this quote. So enjoy.
What do I think God meant when he gave me infertility?
Couples experiencing infertility often receive well-meaning but extremely insensitive "advice." We can all list the most popular ones: "Just relax and you'll get pregnant," or "adopt and you'll get pregnant," or "things happen for a reason", of the most painful from those who think they've got the goods on God's plan, "Maybe God never meant for you to have children." The sheer audacity of making a statement like that never fails to amaze me.
These same people would never walk up to someone seeking treatment for cancer and say, "Maybe God never meant for you to live." However, because I am infertile, I'm supposed to get on with my life. It's hard to understand that people can not see infertility for what it is, a disease for which I have to seek treatment. What if Jonas Salk had said to the parents of polio victims, "Maybe God meant for thousands of our children to be cripples, live in an iron lung or die." What if he'd never tried to find a cure? Who could think for one minute that that was God's plan?
"What do I think God meant when he gave me infertility?""I think he meant for my husband and I to grow closer, become stronger, love deeper. I think God meant for us to find the fortitude within ourselves to get up every time infertility knocks us down. I think God meant for our medical community to discover medicines, invent medical equipment, create procedures and protocols. I think God meant for us to find a cure for infertility.
No, God never meant for me not to have children. That's not my destiny; that's just a fork in the road I'm on. I've been placed on the road less traveled, and, like it or not, I'm a better person for it. Clearly, God meant for me to develop more compassion, deeper courage, and greater inner strength on this journey to resolution, and I haven't let him down."Frankly, if the truth be known, I think God has singled me out for a special treatment. I think God meant for me to build a thirst for a child so strong and so deep that when that baby is finally placed in my arms, it will be the longest, coolest, most refreshing drink I've ever known."While I would never choose infertility, I can not deny that a fertile woman could never know the joy that awaits me. Yes, one way or another, I will have a baby of my own. And the next time someone wants to offer me unsolicited advice I'll say, "Don't tell me what God meant when he handed me infertility. I already know."
